| At approximately 5:31 PM on Friday, April 21, 1967 a F4 class tornado ripped through Hometown on its way from roughly Joliet to Lake Michigan. It first touched down at the present-day campus of Moraine Valley Community College and grew in size hitting Palos Hills, Chicago Ridge, Oak Lawn, Hometown, Evergreen Park and Chicago.
